Industrial Instrumentation & Controls Services

Owner-led I&C expertise for power generation, manufacturing, utilities, municipal infrastructure, and process facilities.

Suncoast Instrumentation & Electrical LLC provides field instrumentation and controls support from the sensing device to the control system. Our owner, Nelson Jean, brings more than a decade of hands-on combined-cycle instrumentation, controls, and plant-operations experience, plus prior I&C experience.

That operating perspective matters. We understand not only how instruments are installed, calibrated, wired, and tested, but also how measurements, logic, alarms, interlocks, permissives, sequences, and equipment must function together inside an operating facility

Instrumentation Services From Field Device to Control System

Suncoast supports instrumentation and controls construction, calibration, troubleshooting, testing, and startup activities for industrial and municipal facilities. Our capabilities include:

  • Pressure, level, flow, and temperature transmitter calibration and troubleshooting
  • Thermocouples, RTDs, switches, sensors, and other field instruments
  • Field-device installation, replacement, configuration, wiring, and terminations
  • Control-panel installation, field interconnections, and precision terminations
  • DCS, PLC, and HMI field interfaces and equipment integration
  • DCS logic troubleshooting, controlled point forcing, and functional checks
  • Analog, digital, and communications signal verification
  • Point-to-point checks, loop checks, alarm checks, and sequence verification
  • Interlock and permissive testing
  • Startup, commissioning, shutdown, outage, and troubleshooting support

Transmitter Calibration & Field Instrumentation

Reliable control begins with accurate process measurement. Suncoast supports the calibration, verification, installation, replacement, and troubleshooting of instruments used to measure pressure, level, flow, and temperature.

Our experience includes process transmitters, thermocouples, RTDs, switches, sensors, associated field wiring, signal verification, loop checks, and functional testing. We can support individual instrument replacements, planned maintenance work, construction projects, outages, and broader controls upgrades.

DCS, PLC & HMI Support

Suncoast understands the relationship between field devices, control panels, DCS and PLC logic, HMI indications, alarms, interlocks, permissives, and equipment sequences. Services can include field integration, signal and point verification, logic troubleshooting, controlled point forcing, functional checks, and startup support.

Controls work is coordinated with site procedures, owner authorization, engineers, OEMs, and system integrators as required. The goal is not simply to make a point change state - it is to verify that the field device, signal path, control logic, indication, alarm, interlock, and equipment response work together correctly.

Plant Operating Experience Changes How We Approach I&C

Nelson has served in both instrumentation-and-controls and plant-operations roles within combined-cycle power generation. That background provides an operator's understanding of process conditions, equipment availability, alarms, sequences, production continuity, and the operational consequences of instrumentation or controls problems.

For customers, that means Suncoast approaches I&C work with the finished operating system in mind - not just the conduit, cable, device, or terminal being worked on.

Industrial Electrical and I&C Under One Contractor

Many facility projects cross the traditional boundary between electrical power and instrumentation and controls. A motor replacement may involve power conductors, motorcontrol equipment, control wiring, permissives, interlocks, feedback signals, alarms, and functional testing. A pump-station project may combine utility power, motor controls, level instrumentation, communications, alarms, and SCADA field infrastructure.

Suncoast can coordinate these interconnected scopes through one owner-led contractor who understands both the electrical installation and the control-system purpose behind it.
